What You Need to Know About Getting Multiple Cosmetic Treatments in One Day

If you are interested in getting multiple cosmetic treatments done all at once, we’re sure these questions are on your mind: is this a good idea? What if I don’t get enough time off? How can I maximize this opportunity for down time?

Don’t worry - we fully understand. After taking a look at a recent article where 15 experts provided recommendations on combined facial treatments, we’ve got some answers for you.

To cut a long story short, the answer is yes for experienced patients: you can do multiple cosmetic treatments on the same day. However, it’s not a simple process - a detailed assessment of your facial appearance in addition to formulating an individualized treatment plan is highly recommended if you want to achieve your long term goals. And unfortunately, if you’re thinking of bundling facial treatments as a first-time cosmetic patient, it is recommended that you do one treatment at a time to begin with and take it easy.

These are some of the important takeaways that you should be aware of:

  • Botox and soft-tissue fillers can be combined in any order

  • If skin tightening is performed with a microfused ultrasound on the same day you are getting botox and/or fillers, skin tightening should be performed first

  • Ideally, treatments should be separated by 1 to 2 weeks to allow time for local side effects to resolve and to assess the results

While we do understand that our patients have busy lives and hope to do as much as they can with as little down time possible, it is important to remember that the after-care is also a lot for you to deal with, and could be overwhelming if you are not adequately prepared. If you’re considering having multiple treatments done at once, ensure you and your dermatologist have assessed your skin in-depth, and be sure that you will be able to handle the effects that come with it.
